MRP Aqua colours - review/recenzia + VIDEO

 25. december 2017 ... Ján Moravčík ... konečne sa mi podarilo nájsť si trochu času, aby som vyskúšal nové farby radu Aqua od slovenského výrobcu MRP. Od ich uvedenia na trh som o nich počul samé chvály, a tak som bol právom zvedavý, ako sa s nimi bude pracovať. Pri mojom hodnotení som zvažoval dve kritériá:

• krycie schopnosti, jemnosť pigmentu, kvalita nástreku
  
• vernosť farieb

Pri teste som použil krídlo lietadla Sptfire v mierke 1:48. Ako prvé som vyskúšal striekať Čierny primerMRP-APB. Je veľmi praktické, že farby sa môžu striekať bez riedenia hneď z fľaštičky. Odporúčam ich ale pred použitím dôkladne pretrepať, aby sa farba dostatočne premiešala. Pri striekaní primeru išlo všetko ako po masle, farba výborne kryje a zanecháva jemný, hodvábny povrch. 

Finally I’ve managed to have some time and try the new Aqua paints from Slovak manufacturer MRP. Since these were released, I’ve heard only good words about them, so I was truly curious about working with them. During my review two criterions were considered:

• Covering ability, softness of the pigment, quality of the surface
• Authenticity of the colours

I used a wing of Spitfire  (1/48 scale) for the test. Firstly I tried to spray the Black primer MRP-APB. It’s very practical, that these paints are ready to use directly from the bottle without thinning. I recommend you to shake them well before usage, to mix the paint properly. During spraying the primer everything went smooth, paint covers the surface perfectly and it is very soft and silky.

Druhá farba v poradí nasledovala biela MRP-A014. S touto farbou som mal vždy problémy, resp. nevedel som s ňou správne pracovať. Buď málo kryla alebo „prášila“. No tu som zistil, že tieto nedostatky neboli spojené ani tak mojou neschopnosťou, ako samotnými farbami. Biela farba MRP kryla úžasne, na povrchu nezanechávala žiadne prachové stopy a povrch bol po nástreku krásne jednoliaty. Farba bola suchá takmer okamžite po nástreku.

The next paint in the row was white MRP-A014. I’ve always had problems with the white paint, or I haven’t known how to work with it. Sometimes covering ability was too low, or the result was dusty. With this MRP paint I realised, that these deficiencies were not caused by my incompetence, but by paint itself. The white MRP covered perfectly, I could not find any kind of dusty residues on the surface, which was nicely solid. The paint dried almost immediately after spraying. 

Ihneď po nástreku týchto dvoch farieb som vedel, že tieto farby dosahujú vysokých kvalít a Renému Molnárovi (majiteľ MRP) sa podarilo nemožné. Vytvoriť farby maximálne sa približujúcim radu Laquer s tým rozdielom, že tieto sú absolútne bez zápachu. Pred pár týždňami sa na facebooku strhla vášnivá debata o vernosti nových farieb AK interactive – laquer. Najviac diskutovanou farbou bol práve odtieň Primerred. Rozhodol som sa vyskúšať aj túto farbu, ktorá je pod kódovým označením MRP-A018. Musím povedať, že aj v tomto prípade MRP nenechal nič na náhodu. Odtieň je vernou kópiou tejto farby a bude dobrou pomôckou modelárom venujúcim sa modelom bojovej techniky.

Right after spraying these two paints I knew, that these paints achieve high quality standards. René Molnár (owner of MRP) achieved an impossible thing – to create paints, which are maximally getting closer to the Laquer range, but they do not smell – even a bit. Few weeks earlier, there was passionate discussion on the Facebook about authenticity of the new AK interactive laquer paints. The mostly discussed was the Primerred colour. I’ve decided to also try this paint, which is marked as MRP-A018. I have to say, that MRP did not leave anything to chance. Its tone is very authentical copy of the real colour and it will be a very good help for AFV modellers.  

Už je to pár rokov, čo som si postavil nemecký tank v štandardnej nemeckej trojtónovej kamufláži. Pri recenzii som vyskúšal aj tieto farby, kde základ tvorila Nemecká žltá MRP-A022. Aj keď sa mi podarilo na niektorých miestach nástrek prehnať, po zaschnutí to vôbec nebolo vidieť.

It has been few years now, since I built a tank in a standard German three tone camouflage. During the review I also tried these colours, where the base was done by German dark yellow MRP-A022. Even though I applied too much paint at some areas, when the paint dried, any defect was visible. 

Následne som na ňu naniesol polia zelenej MRP-A020 a červenohnedej MRP-A021. Základ farieb je odtieňovo veľmi vydarený. V prípade potreby je farby možné zosvetľovať.

Subsequently I applied fields of green MRP-A020 and red-brown MRP-A021. Basic tone of the paints is very nicely done. It could be lightened if needed. 

Čo dodať na záver? Asi len toľko, že ak by sa na Slovensku odovzdávala cena “Modelárska firma roka“, s prehľadom by ju firma MRP vyhrala, pretože vyrába farby svetovej kvality.

What to say for conclusion? If there would be given a prize for “the best Modellers company “ in Slovakia, MRP would win clearly, because they are produce world class paints.
